Blackberry Priv- the Android powered Smartphone launched in India for Rs. 62,990

The Germany based Smartphone maker Blackberry has launched its first ever Android device ‘Priv’. Priced at a premium tag of Rs. 62,990, it will be available to buy in Black color shaded from 30th January 2016 onwards through Amazon and Blackberry’s authorized retail partners across India.

The Smartphone packs a 5.43 inch QHD AMOLED dual curved display much like Samsung Galaxy Edge. The display has a pixel density of 540ppi and resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. Under the lid is Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 Hexa core 64- bit processor assisted by 3GB RAM and Adreno 418, 600MHz GPU.

For storage, it comes with 32GB of in-built storage and it can be further expanded up to 2TB via Micro SD card. It gets an 18 megapixel camera at rear with OIS, dual tone LED flash, 6DOF video stabilization, f/2.2 6P lens and PDAF. Front is equipped with a 2MP snapper offering HD video recording, 1.7 micron pixel size and f/2.8 aperture.

The Blackberry Priv features a slider physical 4-row QWERTY keyboard with touch capacitive feature such as trackpad. It packs in with suite of Blackberry apps like BB camera, BB hub, BBM and BBM meetings alongside DTEK which protects your device and enhances privacy. Other noteworthy features include a three microphone system for avant-garde sound experience, BES 12 and EMM solution for end to end security solution.

A 3410mah battery offers 22.5 hours of life with mixed usage and supports a 2.0 fast charging technology. For connectivity it features with 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, USB 2.0 with Slimport, MIMO, and GPS/A-GPS. On the software front, it runs on Android lollipop 5.1and might get Marshmallow in near future.
