As promised onePlus just announced its flagship OnePlus 6T smartphone at an event in New York. The phone has in-display fingerprint sensor which is called “Screen Unlock” that can also be used to quick launch apps using the customizable app shortcut bar. According to the company, the in-display fingerprint sensor can unlock the phone in 0.34 seconds. It also has face unlock to unlock the phone in 0.4 seconds. The smartphone features a 6.41 inch Full HD+ 19.5:9 aspect ratio Optic AMOLED display with 100.63% sRGB color gamut, DCI-P3 color gamut, over 600 nits brightness with a glass back that comes in Mirror Black version with a Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection and is powered by 2.8GHz Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 10nm mobile platform with Adreno 630 GPU. As per the company, the glass not only increases durability but also creates a 3D effect that accentuates the signature OnePlus horizon line.
It runs on Android 9.0 (Pie) with Oxygen OS 9.0 with support for Android’s full-screen gestures and support for Smart Boost technology that improves app start speeds to 5 to 20% by storing data from frequently used apps in the phone’s RAM.
The phone offers Dual SIM (nano+ nano) and has an in display fingerprint sensor as well. The phone is water resistant as well but doesn’t have IP ratings.
The company has reserved the alert slider from the predecessor, however it doesn’t have a 3.5mm audio jack, so you have to rely on the bundled USB Type-C to 3.5mm adapter, USB Type-C earphones or Bluetooth headphones. On the connectivity, front offers 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 5, GPS+ GLONASS and USB Type-C. It has a powerful 3700mAh battery with Dash charge (5V-4A).
Storage:
The OnePlus 6T comes in two storage variants: 6GB LPDDR4X RAM with 128GB internal memory and 8GB LPDDR4X RAM with 128GB and 256GB internal storage.

The smartphone is equipped with 16 Megapixel camera with dual LED Flash, f/1.7 aperture, 1/2.6″ Sony IMX519 sensor, 1.22μm pixel size, OIS, EIS, secondary 20 megapixel camera with Sony IMX376K sensor, f/1.7 aperture, 1.0μm pixel size, 480 fps slo-mo at 720p, 240 fps at 1080p, 4k at 60 fps and 16 megapixel front-facing camera with Sony IMX 371 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, 1.0μm pixel size
Price and color:
The OnePlus 6 will be available in Mirror Black and Midnight Black color. The 6GB Ram version is priced at $549 (INE 40,290 approx.), 8GB RAM with 128GB internal storage will cost $579 (INR 42,490) and the top-end 8GB RAM with 256GB storage is priced at $629 (INR 46,160 approx).
It will roll out in the US from 1st November and in Europe from 6th November. The price list for India will be revealed soon. It will go on sale in India only on Amazon.in from 1st November.
