Gionee’s newest flagship in the E series, Elife E8 has been launched in India at a whopping price tag of Rs. 34,499INR. Gionee had announced and launched Elife E8 in China in June 2015 while for India the Smartphone will be available from 12th October 2015 via Snapdeal in golden color shade.
It packs an all metal Unibody design much identical to HTC Smartphones and the device flaunts a 6 inch Quad HD AMOLED display with screen resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and pixel density of 490 ppi. Under the hood is a meaty 2GHz Mediatek Helio X10 (MT6795) processor with power VR G6200 GPU.
Supporting the powerful processor is a 3GB of RAM along with massive 64GB of in-built storage which is further expandable up to 128GB via Micro SD card. In terms of software, it runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop wrapped under Amigo 3.1 UI.
However the talking point of Elife is its camera configuration, it comes with a 24MP primary rear camera with dual tone LED flash, lossless zoom, phase detection autofocus, OIS (optical image stabilization) and supports 4K video recording. An 8MP front facing camera completes the package.
There is also a fingerprint sensor button at rear just beneath the 21MP camera which according to company has a recognition accuracy percentage of 99 and identification time period of less than 500 milliseconds.
The Dual SIM Smartphone cum Phablet supports connectivity options including 4G LTE (for Indian bands), Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac/b/g/n, GPS, USB OTG and NFC. The device is on the heavier side with 207 grams of weight and measures 164.0×82.3×9.6mm. The Smartphone is backed by a 3500mAh battery with support of fast charging technology.
