LG announces G4 Smartphone with 5.5 inch Quad HD, Snapdragon 808 SOC and Leather Back

LG has finally taken the wraps off its next flagship Smartphone ‘G4’ on Tuesday at an event in London, New York and Seoul. The G4 is the successor of G3 and build on design element called ‘Slim Arc’ and it is slightly curved to improve the handling and gives 20% more durability.

The LG G4 has a leather packed back panel which is scratch resistant and made with materials found in leather bags. G4 is available in metallic grey, gold and ceramic white color variants while the leather back covers are available in Red, Yellow, beige, Sky blue, black and brown colors.

In terms of specs it flaunts a 5.5 inch Quantum HD display with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution and 534ppi as pixel density. The display of G4 is said to be 25% brighter and 11% more efficient than G3.

Under the hood of G4 is a 1.8GHz Hexa core Snapdragon 808 chipset with Adreno 418 GPU along with 3GB RAM. The LG will come with 32GB internal memory with Micro SD card slot as option so you can expand the memory up to 2TB. G4 buyers will also get 100GB of free Google drive storage for two years.

LG G4 will run on Android Lollipop v5.1 with LG UX 4.0 on the top for more instinctive experience along with LG’s Knock down, Knock on and health app.

Though the design of G4 is marginally similar to G3 but the camera of G4 has seen some improvements like it now sports 16MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture as compared to 13MP unit of G3.

G4 also comes with camera features such as dual color sensor, infrared light, white balance, laser autofocus feature and optical optimization for high quality photos. There is also an 8MP front facing camera with f/2.0 aperture.

The device is gets energy from a 3000mah battery equipped with fast charge technology and comes with dimensions of 149.1mm x 75.3mm x 8.9mm.

On the connectivity front, LG G4 supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi direct, DLNA, Dual band, bluetooth 4.0, FM radio with RDS, 4G/LTE, GLONASS, NFC and IT baster.

The Smartphone will go on sale in Korea first followed by other countries, however no mention on when G4 will reach the Indian market. LG hasn’t revealed any price details of G4 yet.
