Micromax, the second largest Smartphone maker in India has added another device in its Canvas 5 series christened as Canvas 5 lite. The Smartphone has been priced at Rs. 6499 and it is exclusively available via an e-commerce portal Snapdeal. The device comes in two colors- Slate grey and brown. It has leather back panel and metal frame for a premium design.
As for the specs, the new kid on the block flaunts a 5 inch HD IPS display with pixel density of 294ppi and screen resolution of 1280*720 pixels. Under the hood is a dated 1 GHz quad core Mediatek MT6735 64-bit processor accompanied by 2GB RAM and Mali-720 GPU. The internal storage has 16GB and surprisingly it cannot be expanded further as it doesn’t have a Micro SD card slot.
The Micromax Canvas 5 lite bears an 8 megapixel primary rear camera while for Selfies it comes with 5MP front snapper. Both the cameras have OmniVision OV5670 sensor support. On the software front, it still runs on outdated Android Lollipop 5.0 out of the box. Besides, it offers 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, bluetooth 4.0, GPS, dual Sim, 3.5mm audio jack and FM radio. A 2000mah battery completes the package which is claimed to deliver up to 4.5 hours of talktime and up to 150 hours of standby time.
