MWC 2018: What to expect from Samsung, Nokia, and HTC

Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 is the biggest telecom and mobile industry event in the world. This time the MWC is slated from February 26 to March 1. However, manufacturers like Samsung and HMD global will hold keynotes a day prior ie on February 25 itself. All the brands want to grab attention and therefore many teasers and leaks are being released right now! We are expecting major smartphones such as Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ announcements at the event and here we bring you what more is expected to launch at the event.

Samsung at MWC 2018

One of the biggest MWC launches would undoubtedly be the Samsung Galaxy S9 series. The South Korean manufacturer would announce its latest smartphones at the Galaxy Unpacked event on February 25. Starting with the Galaxy 9 and Galaxy S9+, the phones are expected to look similar to the previous-gen Galaxy S8 range. As reports say, the front bezels might be thinner, the S9+’s primary camera will get a dual camera setup. Screen size is expected to remain the same with the 5.8-inch display for the Galaxy 9 and 6.2-inch for the Galaxy S9 +. In terms of optics, both the phones are said to get major upgrades. The front camera might include the iris scanner on the Galaxy S9.

Nokia at MWC 2018

HMD Global has confirmed Nokia’s presence for the MWC event. Nokia’s 3310 (4G) is highly rumoured at the launch keynote on February 25. The smartphone has already been announced in China and is expected to go global on the event. The 3310 model comes with high-speed Internet access and runs on Android-based YunOS. Other updates as from the last year model are 256MB RAM and 512MB internal storage that is further expandable up to 64GB with a microSD card.

Apart from this, there are also expectations of some new Android phones from Nokia. It can be the Nokia 1 that is expected to come with an HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display, 1GB RAM, and 8GB of storage. The other one can be Nokia 7 Plus that is said to run on Android One and can sport a dual rear camera setup. The Nokia 9 flagship smartphone is also expected to make its appearance with dual cameras on the front and at the back. The last one which is rumoured to be unveiled is the Nokia 8 (2018).

HTC at MWC 2018

Apart from these, HTC is expected to unveil its Desire 12 at the event. It is said to get features like a 5.5-inch display, to run on quad-core MediaTek processor, can get 3GB RAM, a 12-MP rear camera, and 5-MP front camera. Other specs include a 2730mAh battery and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, 4G LTE, and Bluetooth for connectivity.
