Samsung has finally launched its new flagship Galaxy note 5 in India in two variants. The 32GB variant of Note 5 is priced at Rs. 53,900 while 64GB variant cost at Rs. 59,900. The Phablet will be available in India from 20th September in Gold platinum, black sapphire and silver platinum colors and pre-orders for the Note 5 opens today.

Samsung is portraying Note 5 as ‘the most powerful and dynamic galaxy yet’ which packs a 5.7 inch Quad HD Super AMOLED screen (1440×2560) with pixel density of 515ppi and it is protected with a layer of Corning Gorilla glass 4.

Powering Galaxy Note 5 is a 64-bit Octa-core Exynos 7420 SoC 2.1GHz quad-core Cortex-A57 + 1.5GHz quad-core Cortex-A53. For multi tasking you get 4GB LPDDR4 RAM with 32GB and 64GB internal memory and unfortunately there is no memory card slot on offer.

Galaxy Note 5 comes with a 16 megapixel rear camera with single LED flash and features /1.9 aperture, 4K (UHD) video recording and OIS (Optical image stabilizer). There is a 5 megapixel front camera for Selfies to complete the camera package.

The Device runs Android Lollipop 5.1.1 out of the box with the refreshed Touch Wiz UI on top. The new UI brings some great features with it like quick camera launch, YouTube live broadcasting etc. The Phablet measures 153.2 x 76.1 x 7.6mm and weighs 171 grams which is quite decent for such a huge phone.

For connectivity, it supports 4G/LTE band (cat 6), dual band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi, Miracast, Bluetooth 4.2, DLNA, GLONASS, GPS with A-GPS, Micro USB port and ANT+NFC. It also has incorporated heart rate monitor and fingerprint sensor.

The new Note takes its juice from a 3000mah non removable battery that supports fast wireless charging technology with a full charge in 120 minutes. Those who pre-order the Phablet will get a wireless charger along with a one year screen replacement guarantee. Samsung will also be offering 100GB of One drive storage for free to users.

One of the highlighting points is the improved S pen which now features with one click insert/eject mechanism. Company claims that the new Stylus S pen is more solid and smooth than ever. With new improved features you can take notes without unlocking the phone and Air command icon has been provided for quick access to all S pen tools. In India, the competition will come from I Phone 6 plus, LG G4 and One plus 2.
