Samsung finally ended the two year long wait by launching much awaited Samsung Z1 on Wednesday, it is Samsung’s first ever Smartphone based on its own Tizen OS for Rs. 5700 INR. This launch event was held at New Delhi which was made more beautiful by Samsung’s brand ambassador and Bollywood Diva Huma Qureshi.

With the inclusion of Tizen OS South Korean company wants to reduce the dependency on Google’s Android operating system which features in most of its devices including Mobiles and Tablets. Market had witnessed the first revilement of Tizen OS based Smartphone Samsung Z in June but its released was postponed for indefinite time.

Samsung Z1 is powered by a 1.2GHz dual core processor supported by 768MB RAM and it runs on Tizen OS v2.3. Samsung’s most budgeted phone till now has 4-inch (480×800 pixel) WVGA screen and has 3.1 MP rear camera along with 0.3 VGA front facing. This device weighs only 112gms with dimensions of 120.463.29.7mm

On memory front it sports 4GB in built storage which can be expanded via micro SD card up to 64 GB. Samsung Z1 has battery capacity of 1500mAh which can deliver 8 hours of talk time and 7 hours of Video playback. Its battery backup is slightly on the lower side as compared to its chief rival Xiaomi 1s which has 2000mAh battery.

Samsung Z1 offers dual Sim connectivity with 2G/3G slot and user can enjoy some premium features such as 2.7 lakh songs and 80+ TV channels through Club Samsung, Z1 also comes with three month free subscriptions of Hungama music, nexGTV and Box TV. Z1 sports other features such as USB 2.0, bluetooth 4.1, A-GPS, WI-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and supports 14 regional languages, ultra power saving modes, private mode etc.

Samsung Z1 is available in three colors- White, Black and Wine Red colors and is already available in stores near you. Z1 comes with 500MB 3G data free every month for 6 months for Reliance and Aircel users.

Samsung Z1 is basically made for ‘first time Smartphone users’ which has a stiff competition from Micromax, Lava, Karbonn and Android one. But Z1 has to face a very healthy competition from new mobile giant in the making Xiaomi’s Redmi 1s which costs around same price as Z1 but sports better features than Z1.

Mr. Hyun Chil Hong, President and CEO, Samsung India Electronics said, “The Smartphone market in India is rapidly evolving, with many consumers using their device as their screen of choice for content including videos, television programs and video games, as well as a range of apps,”“We have customized the Samsung Z1 to meet these unique, entertainment-focused needs of local Indian consumers for a personal and reliable mobile experience.”
