Xiaomi Mi 5 with Snapdragon 820 launched in India at Rs. 24,999

Xiaomi has finally launched Mi 5 in India as it promised; India is one of the first markets to receive the Smartphone after China. The Mi 5 comes in three color shades- Gold, black and white and will be available from April 6, 2016 via Mi.com. Xiaomi has introduced Mi 5 in single variant in India, the device is priced at Rs. 24,999 for the 3GB RAM 32GB ROM version while in the home country China it is available in two other variants as well- Prime edition with 3GB RAM, 64GB storage and Pro edition with 4G RAM and 128GB of memory.

In terms of design, it borrows quite similar elements from Mi note series. The Dual Sim sports a 5.15 inch full HD display with Curved 3D glass, 1920*1020 pixels of screen resolution, 95% NTSC color saturation, 600 nit-brightness, sunlight and night display and pixel density of 428ppi. The phone is fuelled by a 1.8GHz 64-bit Quad Core Snapdragon 820 processor with 3GB of LPDDR4 RAM and Adreno 530 GPU.

The Mi 5 features a 16 Megapixel Sony IMX298 rear camera with dual tone LED flash, phase detection autofocus, 4-axis OIS and 4K video recording. At the front, it bears 4MP camera with 2um pixel size, 80 degree wide angle lens and f/2.0 aperture. It packs with a 3000mah battery with Qualcomm quick charge 3.0 technology which according to company is 20% faster than the 2.0 version.

On the connectivity front, it boasts of 4G LTE with VoLTE, bluetooth 4.2, NFC, USB type C port, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac with dual band MIMO, GPS and GLONASS. It also gets Fingerprint sensor on the home button and Infrared technology. Though the device looks promising in almost every aspect but price seems to higher by 4-5k.
