Just a day before Xiaomi’s Mi4 Smartphone goes on sale on e-commerce portal ‘Flipkart’ in India today at 2PM IST, the emerging mobile giant Xiaomi has announced that they will be selling Mi4 64 GB variant from 24th February 2015 in India for Rs. 23,999 INR, which is around 4000 more than the 16GB variant.
The announcement made by Xiaomi seems to be quite dramatic and interesting as today One plus One goes on sale in an open sale; no invites will be required to buy the phone. The sale is already begun on Amazon from 10 AM IST. One plus One is priced at Rs. 21,999 INR and comes with 64GB storage and 4G connectivity.
Xiaomi might have made this announcement to tackle the One plus One open sale as Xiaomi faces a stiff competition from one plus one. Xiaomi Mi4 matches one plus one storage capacity but mi4 supports 3G while One plus one offers 4G LTE. This means Mi4 will cost Rs. 2000 more than one plus one and with no 4G LTE support.
Xiaomi Mi4 has a 5.0 inch IPS display protected with Corning Gorilla glass 3 and supports 2.5GHz quad core snapdragon 801 processor with Adreno 330 GPU with 3GB RAM and 16/64GB internal storage which is non expandable.
Mi4 runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat and MIUI V6 on the top; as far as camera is concerned it has a 13MP rear camera with LED flash, 6 element lenses, 4K video recording and Sony BSI sensor. On the front it carries a 8 MP camera with 5 element lens and Sony R sensor.
Mi 4 is 8.9mm thick and 149 grams in weight and in terms of connectivity it supports 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4/5 GHz), Wi-Fi direct and bluetooth 4.0. It is powered by a 3080Mah battery and lasts for one and half day with normal usage and will offer 60% quick charging in an hour’s time.
Mi4 64 GB variant will come in white color and registrations for 64GB variant will begin soon. It will be interesting to see the battle between Mi 64GB variant and one plus one.
