YU televentures has been teasing its new flagship Smartphone ‘YUTOPIA’ for a while now. Micromax Subsidiary firm YU is touting it as the most powerful phone on the plant due to high end specifications. It is available for a price tag of Rs. 24,999 and will go on sale exclusively via Amazon India on 26th December 2015. The pre-bookings for the device begin today.
The YU YUTOPIa’s strong points begin right from the screen as it features with 5.2 inch Quad WHD 2K OGS display sporting 2560×1440 pixels resolution and 565ppi of pixel density for better sunlight readability. The display is protected by Corning Concore glass.
Under the hood is a powerful 64-bit Octa Core 810 processor clocked at 2GHz and paired to a meaty 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM while graphic department is taken care by Adreno 430GPU. On memory front, it comes with 32GB of in-built storage along with Micro SD card support to further lodge 128GB.
Much to the photo freaks delight; it bears a 21MP primary camera with dual tone LED flash, Sony Exmor RS IMX230 sensor, 77.3 degree wide angle lens, PDAF and OIS. Also, there is an 8 megapixel front facing camera with f/2.2 aperture, OV8865 BSI-2 sensor on board. Another highlight on YUTOPIA is fingerprint sensor placed below the rear camera to unlock phone and supports wake up functionality and can take Selfie as well by just a tap.
The Smartphone runs on the latest Cyanogen OS 12.1 based on Android 5.1.1 and will be getting a Marshmallow update anytime soon. Despite featuring a metal design the device is just 7.2mm thick and weighs just 152 grams.
The Smartphone backed by a 3,000mAh battery which can last an entire day and it also comes with Quick Charge 2.0 support which can charge the battery from 0-60% in just 30 minutes. Besides Fingerprint sensor it also comes with electronic compass, barometer, Hall sensor, G-sensor, L-sensor, P-sensor and 6-axis gyroscope.
The YU YUTOPIA flaunts usual set of connectivity features like 4G LTE, Hybrid Sim technology, bluetooth 4.1, GPS, dual band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, USB type C and GPS.
Alongside YUTOPIA launch, it introduced the AroundYU service which is a native for service discovery. AroundYU users will get Rs 100 off and fourth ride free for cabs. You will also get 15 percent off on Zomato and 40 users to get flights at Re. 1 on their first trip (500 users’ total).
Quite similar to Apple Assured upgrade program, YUTOPIA also comes with same program under which YUTOPIA buyer will get an assured upgrade to YUTOPIA 2 when it will be launched. Furthermore they will also get up to 40 percent cashback on the value of the YUTOPIA.
