Just days after its global unveiling, Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ have been launched in India at a whopping price of Rs. 57,900 INR. The new Curvy Smartphone will go on sale from 28th August 2015 onwards, while pre-orders for the phone have already begun. It will be available in Gold and silver color variants and only 32GB variant is up for grab in India.
The Smartphone packs a 5.7 inch QHD (2560x1440pixels) Super AMOLED display along with a pixel density of 515ppi. The Android 5.1 Lollipop based S6 edge+ is powered by a 64-bit Octa core Exynos 7520 processor with (four cortex A57 ticks @2.1GHz and four cortex A57 clocks @1.5GHz). The Exynos processor is aided by 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 32GB of on-board storage with no Micro SD card slot. Samsung will also be offering 100GB of One Drive cloud storage to the users
In the photography department, it offers a 16 megapixel primary rear camera with optical image stabilization, f/1.9 aperture and 4K ultra high definition video recording and live broadcast which allow user to send live stream of video to any group or individual. It is complemented by a 5MP front facing camera. The camera can be accessed with a double tap on the home button which also sports fingerprint sensor.
Connectivity options include on S6 Edge+ 4G LTE/3G HSPA+, Single SIM, bluetooth 4.2 LE and apt-X, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, NFC, Micro USB 2.0 and GPS/A-GPS. The phone comes with a 3000mah non removable battery with fast wire and wireless charging.
The company has also introduced a keyboard cover for the Smartphone for Rs. 4499 and a smart clear cover case for Rs. 2999. A wireless charge is also available for Rs. 3599. The new Touch Wiz UI brings some new features to S6 edge+ like quick camera launch, live YouTube broadcasting etc.
