Xiaomi launched the Mi 6X at an event at Wuhan University. The smartphone is expected to be launched as the Mi A2 much like the Mi A1. The handset is expected to be unveiled in the Indian market super soon. The phone is also the second smartphone from Xiaomi which comes pre-installed with Xiao AI. Here are its detailed specifications as revealed on its launch in China:
The Mi 6X (Mi A2) has been launched in three variants. It has a 5.99-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio and narrow bezels on the sides that give it a similar look like that of the Redmi Note 5 Pro. This dual-SIM phone will run on MIUI 9.5 software, based on Android 8.1 Oreo. On the processor front, it is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 660 SoC and is mated to Adreno 512 GPU. The connectivity options include 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 5.0, IR emitter, and USB Type-C port. There are no earphones same as with the MI A1. The smartphone measures 158.7×75.4×7.3mm in thickness and weigh 168 grams.
For the camera, it gets a 20-MP Sony IMX376 sensor with a f/1.75 aperture for the front camera. On the back, it gets a dual camera setup with a 12-MP primary camera with f/1.75 aperture and a 20-MP secondary camera with the same aperture but 1-micron pixel size. The primary camera setup is accompanied by phase-detection autofocus and dual-tone LED flash. Both the cameras have AI Scene Recognition for better colors and portrait mode options.
The Xiaomi phone is backed by a 3010mAh battery that supports QuickCharge 3.0 which allows it to charge faster.
Storage and price
The phone has three variants, one with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage that is priced at around 16,900 INR, the 6GB RAM and 64GB storage option costs approximately 19,000 INR. Lastly, for the top variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, the price tag will be around 21,000 INR.
The Xiaomi Mi 6X comes in Red, Gold, Rose Gold, Blue, and Black color options.
