Xiaomi’s newly-formed POCO brand is looking forward to launch the POCO F1 in India and amid that news the launch of Mi8 flagship is also said to be on cards. The Chinese brand seems to be all set to launch its Mi8 soon for the Indian market. Confirming the news many more dealers said that Xiaomi has informed that it is planning to launch the Mi 8 in the country in the coming weeks. The handset will be the brand’s first device to sport a display notch and offers a premium metal and glass body with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The Mi 8 will pack a 6.21-inch display with 18.7:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2,248 x 1,080 pixels. For the processor it would be powered by qualcomm’s snapdragon 845 chipsets. The phone boots on Android Oreo-based MIUI 10 out of the box. Its connectivity options are said to have 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC, and USB Type-C. It will also be the first smartphone in the world to flaunt dual-band (L1-L5) GPS. Due to this technology there would not be any signal delays to deliver more accurate navigation.
On the camera front it will possess a 12MP primary camera at the rear and a 20MP selfie snapper. Not only this, its camera also gets studio lighting that offers AI-enhanced portrait photography.
The phone will be backed by a 3,400mAh battery with quick charge 4+ fast charging support.
The storage options the phone is said to come with are 6GB / 8GB RAM and 64GB / 128GB / 256GB storage variants.
The Xiaomi Mi 8 is expected to be priced around 30,000 INR, though it’s not confirmed. It is also said that the device would be an offline-centric smartphone.
