Gionee Marathon M5 with massive 6020 mAh battery, 3GB RAM launched in India at Rs. 17,999

As promised, the Chinese Smartphone maker Gionee today has launched its new Marathon M5 with gigantic battery strength of 6020mAh which company claims to deliver a back up for two full days with heavy usage and 62 hours of back up with just 5 percent battery remaining. The Marathon M5 comprises of two 3010mah batteries with power saving modes and fast dual charging chips.

The device also supports reverse charging technology making it a power bank to other devices. With the price tag of Rs. 17,999, Gionee Marathon competes with Lenovo’s Vibe P1.

It has a big 5.5 inch HD super AMOLED plus display with 720×1280 pixels resolution, pixel density of 267ppi and dual tone rear panel. Powering the flagship is a quad-core Mediatek MT6735 processor clocked at 1.5GHz and coupled with 3GB of RAM.

The device bears 32GB of internal storage which is expandable by up to 128GB via micro SD card. The Marathon M5 features decent pair cameras with primary being a 13MP snapper with support to 5P lens, LED flash and 1080p video recording. At front, you get 5MP snapper with 84 degree wide angle lens.

The dual Sim with dual standby device runs on Amigo 3.1 based Android 5.1 Lollipop. For connectivity, it supports 4G LTE on both Sims, 3G HSPA+, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, USB OTG, FM radio and 3.5mm audio jack. The device is slightly on the heavier side with 214 grams of weight while measuring at 152x76x8.55mm.

The Smartphone will go on sale exclusively via Flipkart in Gold, black and white color variants.
