In November 2015, Micromax launched Canvas 5 which was admired for decent performance, high RAM and affordable pricing of 11,999. Now the domestic brand has launched a new edition of it called Canvas 5 lite special edition. The highlight of the device is walnut wood back panel which looks premium. The phone is listed on official website but without any pricing quote however the device is available at onlymobiles.com at Rs. 8499.
Besides wooden back panel, the special edition is similar to standard version. It sports a 5 inch HD display and powered by a 1 GHz Quad core Mediatek MT6735P processor clubbed with 2GB of RAM. There is 16GB on board storage which one further increase by inserting a Micro SD card.
The Canvas 5 lite edition boots dated Android Lollipop 5.0 out of the box. Coming to the camera, it includes an 8MP rear camera with auto focus and LED flash and a 5MP front shooter for Selfies and video calling. It is fitted with a 2000mah battery that’s promises to deliver up to 150 hours of standby time and up to 4.5 hours of talktime.
Besides, the dual Sim handset offers 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, GPS, FM radio, 3.5mm audio jack and Micro USB 2.0 as connectivity options. The phone is available at 8499 but we expect to price it even lower once it launches officially.
