Microsoft announces Lumia 540 Dual SIM Smartphone; India Launch Next Month

Microsoft has announced yet another budget Smartphone ‘Lumia 540’ for IMEA (India, Middle East and Africa), Italy and Asia Pacific countries, priced at $149 approx (9300 INR). The Smartphone is the successor of Lumia 530 and it will be available in India from next month.

Microsoft Lumia 540 is a Dual Sim Smartphone that comes with a 5 inch 720p display with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution.  Powering the Lumia 540 is a 1.2GHz Quad core Snapdragon 200 processor paired with 1GB of RAM.

Lumia 540 has 8GB of onboard storage with a Micro SD card slot and up to 30GB of cloud based storage with Microsoft’s One Drive.

The Lumia 540 runs on Windows 8.1 with Lumia denim update but it will be getting Windows 10 update later this year.

On Photography front, Lumia 540 sports an 8 megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash and a 5 megapixel wide angle Selfie camera.

Speaking of the connectivity options Lumia 540 supports Dual Sim connectivity, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi with hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, 3G, GPS and support up to 8 Wi-Fi enabled devices.

The Phone is backed up by a removable 2200mah battery. It will come in handful of colors- Orange, White, Black and Glossy layered Cyan. Microsoft Lumia 540 will go live in India and other regions in May 2015.
