OnePlus 2 launched in India at Rs. 24,999; to be available from 11th August on Amazon

OnePlus, the Chinese Smartphone maker has launched the second version of its flagship killer OnePlus called OnePlus 2 at a Virtual Reality event today. The OnePlus 2 will go on sale with an invite basis in many countries including India from 11th August 2015 via Amazon.in. OnePlus 2 is available in two variants 4GB RAM with 16GB internal memory priced at Rs. 22,999 while the 64GB variant comes at Rs. 24,999 INR.

At a first glance, the new model looks different from its first GEN with an aluminum and magnesium effect metallic frame and comes with company’s stand stone back cover. Additionally, the device is also offered with various different styled back covers including Rosewood, Bamboo, Kevlar and Black Apricot.

The OnePlus 2 now sports a 5.5 inch Full HD in-cell display with 1920×1080 of pixels and 1500:1 contrast ratio and protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla glass 3. It comes powered by a 64bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor clocked at 1.8 GHz, paired with 4GB DDR4 RAM with 64GB non expandable memory. The 16GB variant boasts 3GB LPPD4 RAM with Adreno 430 GPU which will be available later this year.

The device packs in a 13 megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash, laser autofocus, OIS, f/2.0 aperture, 4k video recording, RAW image support and slow motion at 120fps. There is a 5MP front camera to complete the package. The new laser focus takes 0.3 seconds to for accurate and clear clicks.

The USP of OnePlus 2 is fingerprint scanner that can save up to five fingerprints and can unlock the phone within 0.5 seconds. A 3300mah battery on OnePlus 2 is slightly better than OnePlus One’s 3100mah. The new Flagship killer by OnePlus measure at 151.8 x 74.9 x 9.85 mm is 175 grams heavy.

In terms of connectivity, you get 4G LTE, Wi-Fi direct, bluetooth 4.1, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and USB Type-C. On software front, OnePlus 2 customized OS based Android 5.1 Lollipop.
