Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 Soc may support 8GB of RAM

Qualcomm recently unveiled the new GEN Snapdragon 820 chipset and several Smartphone manufactures are waiting to try their hands. If rumors are to be believed Xiaomi ‘Mi5’ will be the first device to feature with 820 Soc which is slated to be launched during February 2015 period. While we all are waiting for the 820 chipset rumors have already started about its successor “Snapdragon 830”.

Some reports also suggest that the 830 chipset will also support up to 8GB of RAM and if Qualcomm’s new chipset able to produce such huge support then massive multitasking will just be buttery smooth and brisk. The 820 Soc is manufactured by the famed 14 nm process with support to custom kryo cores while 830 Soc will be produced with Samsung’s 10Nm process.

The new processor might face tough competition from upcoming Samsung’s Exynos 8890 Soc and Mediatek’s Helio X20 Soc and Huawei’s Kirin 950 Soc which itself is a powerhouse according to benchmarks result.

However Qualcomm has not officially confirmed the details of 830Soc but according to some speculations and Chinese analyst Pan Jiutang, the Snapdragon 830 chipset will apparently to the demarked as “MSM8998,” whereas the Snapdragon 820 is christened as “MSM8996”. Microsoft has already able to use this chipset and turn into a working desktop/Laptop but it will be interesting to see if a Smartphone could handle such high pressure Soc on average batteries.

The high cores and bigger Soc can’t make sense if the battery technology wedged; as an end user we need higher performance batteries along with quick charging technologies. It will be very exciting to see how well will it perform? Let’s wait and see.
