Gionee has officially launched the metal packed S6 Smartphone in India at a sticker price of Rs. 19,999. The Smartphone makes its way in three color shades-Rose Gold, Silver and Gold colors and is available via Flipkart. The company had announced and launched S6 in China in November last year.
The device is 6.9mm thick which is definitely its USP and packs a 5.5 inch Super AMOLED display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution and display is protected by Cornering Gorilla glass 3 generation. Powering the S6 is an Octa Core Mediatek MT6753 processor with Mali T-720GPU clocked at 1.3GHz. At this price range, Gionee should have given more powerful or at least a Snapdragon SOC with it.
The processor is supported by 3GB of RAM and bears 32GB of internal storage out of which user get 23GB for usage. A user can further expand the memory up to 128GB via Micro SD card slot. It runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop wrapped under Gionee’s Amigo OS 3.1 on top. Despite of metal body construction, S6 weighs just 148 grams and measures 151.9×74.6×6.9mm.
It supports the Hybrid dual Sim slots and sports 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, full HD video recording and features like geo tagging, GIF, code scanner, eraser, face beauty, Pic note, Smart scene, ultra pixel, professional, Panorama further enhance the imaging. For Selfie, it is equipped with a 5 megapixel front facing camera.
For connectivity, it includes 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, bluetooth 4.0, USB type-C, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio and Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n. The hardware is fuelled by 3150mah battery and company claims it can last for more than 300 hours owing to power save mode.
