Smartphones Expected to Launch in February 2018

February is when the annual MWC Barcelona gets all the attention. This year too, the Mobile World Congress event is in the spotlight and in India there is a furor as mobiles are launching every day! Though it would take time for many phones after their launch in MWC to come in India, we have some smartphones which are coming to our market in February:

Xiaomi Redmi 5 / Redmi 5 Plus

Last month Xiaomi launched its first Redmi phone with 18:9 screens in China. While the devices launched were not showcased with their global availability, they are now said to launch soon in India. The Redmi 5 gets a 5.7-inch display having HD+ resolution and minimal bezels on the front. It gets Snapdragon 450 as its processor and comes in two variants that are 2GB + 16GB and 3GB + 32GB. The camera section gets a 12-MP primary camera with dual-tone LED flash and a 5MP front camera for selfies. The phone runs on Android Nougat based on MIUI 9 and comes backed by 3300 mAh battery.

Redmi 5

For the Redmi 5 Plus, it gets a bigger 5.99-inch full HD+ screen and runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor. It comes in two variants that are 3GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB. This smartphone will also be backed by a massive battery of 4,000mAh. Else, it has similar specs as the Redmi 5.

Nokia 6 (2018)

Earlier this month it has been launched in China. The Nokia smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch full HD display and is powered by Snapdragon 630 processor. The Nokia 6 (2018) gets 4GB RAM and will be available in 32GB and 64GB storage variants. The camera section has a 16-MP primary snapper and an 8-MP front shooter for selfies. Nokia is expected to price the device around INR 15000 and it is said to carry a battery of 3000 mAh.

Gionee S11

Gionee is all set to bring the Gionee S11 to India. The smartphone comes with a 5.99-inch 18:9 display that possesses full HD+ resolution and a 2.5D curved glass on top. The handset is powered by a 2.5GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P23 processor and is mated to 4GB of RAM. The optics have a 16-MP + 8-MP dual camera setup at the back and a 16MP + 5MP one for the front. The Gionee S11 runs on Amigo OS 5.0 based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. It is fuelled by a 3,410 mAh battery and consists of 64GB expandable storage. The price tag the device is expected to come with would be under INR 20000.

Smartphones all set to launch this January 2018

Sony Xperia XA2, XA Ultra and L2

Sony at CES 2018 unveiled its Xperia XA2, Xperia XA2 Ultra and Xperia L2. Sony’s XA2 comes with 5.2-inch full HD display, has Android 8.0 Oreo as OS, gets Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 as the processor, for storage has 3GB RAM, the camera gets 23MP primary shooter and an 8MP front snapper while for the battery it is of 3,300mAh.

Xperia XA2 Ultra

Coming to the Xperia XA Ultra, it features a 6-inch full HD screen, runs on Android Oreo, has 16-MP + 8-MP selfie camera, a 23-MP primary camera, gets Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 the processor, has 4GB of RAM and is backed by 3,580mAh battery.

Moving on to the Xperia L2, it offers a 5.5-inch HD display, runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat, has Media Tek MT6735P as the processor, 3GB RAM as storage, gets a 13MP autofocus rear camera, an 8MP front shooter for selfies, 4G LTE and fuels on 3,300mAh battery.

Micromax Bharat Go

This smartphone would be the first in the budget phones to come with the Android Oreo (Go edition). It is to be priced around INR 2000 which will make it the most affordable option for the latest Android. This Edition is especially for devices with less than 1GB RAM.
