Samsung Gear S3 Classic and Gear S3 Frontier Launched at Rs 28500

Samsung has finally launched its new Tizen OS powered smart watch S3 in two variants- Classic and Frontier, priced at Rs. 28,500. The pre-booking has already started and both will be available to buy via all leading Samsung stores across India starting 18th January, 2017. G3, the successor to S2 was first unveiled at IFA last year and has been on sale in International market at $349 (23383 INR).

Samsung Gear S3 comes with some new handy features like user can accept or reject call or snooze an alarm without touching the screen. It also comes with IP68 water and dust resistance ratings, rotating bezel and LTE with bluetooth and Wi-Fi support. Both have in-built GPS to track activities even without a smartphone.

The Gear S3 classic is premium and stylish version featuring a leather strap while Frontier is more rugged variant that comes with military grade protection and rubber strap. It also comes with NFC, LTE connectivity and microphone and speaker to handle calls. These have speedometer, barometer and SOS, to activate SOS, just simply triple tap the screen which instantly sends notification to the saved lists of contacts in case of emergency.

The Samsung Gear S3 has a 1.3 inch super AMOLED display with resolution of 360*360 and pixels density of 278 ppi. It is powered by a 1GHz dual core processor with 768MB of RAM and 4GB of in-built storage. It is fuelled by a 380mah li-ion battery with wireless charging support and claims to deliver up to 4 days of battery life. It also comes with power saver mode to further extend the battery life.

The S3 classic version measures 46 x 49 x 12.9; Weight: 57g (without band) while Frontier measures 46 x 49 x 12.9; Weight: 62g (without band). The Gear S3 takes on Moto 360 (2nd Gen) and Huawei watch.
